Independent Booksellers Week at The Bookshelf, Saltash.
Well, we’ve moved to our new shop and can welcome you with lots of space and a tea room upstairs.
June 14th – 10 am to 12 noon - One of our favourite authors, Suzanne Morton, will be here to sign copies of both her first and second books, ‘Smiling Angels’.
June 15th - 10 am to 12 noon – John Welshman is visiting us for the first time. His book ‘Churchills Children’ will ring a bell with all those who knew about evacuees, or were themselves an evacuee. Come and meet him..…
June 16th – 10 am to 12 noon – The man who gave us ‘Aspects of Saltash’ – Bruce Hunt. He needs no introduction, but will be delighted to meet his old and new fans.
And in the afternoon from 1 pm, we have two authors from the South of the County – Edwin Page, well known for ‘Where Seagulls Fly’ and bringing his film books for us to enjoy. And Patti Silver, author of three books, ‘ Jolies Garden’, ‘A mermaids tale’ and ‘I’ll take you on a journey’.
June 17th we will be entertaining Tessa Hainsworth, with her new book, ‘ Seagulls in the Attic’. If you enjoyed her first enchanting story of her life as a postie in Cornwall, you’ll love this one. She will be available to sign copies of both the old and the new books.
June 18th – We are delighted to welcome Julian Stockwin back to The Bookshelf, together with his wife Kathy. We’ll have paperback copies of ‘Invasion’ and his new hardback ‘Victory’. They will be here to meet you between 12 noon and 1.30 pm.
June 19th & 20th.Saltash Regatta. This year, the theme will again be the Black Prince, with strong connections to Saltash and Trematon Castle.The central feature of the Regatta will be the Mixed and Veterans Pilot Gig Championship, hosted by Saltash's own Caradon Gig Club.

June 19th. 7.30p.m. SALTASH LADIES CHOIR and GUESTS IN CONCERT AT ASHTORRE WHARF IN AID OF ASHTORRE COMMUNTIY FUNDS AND SALTASH LADIES CHOIR - MORE DETAILS TO BE ANNOUNCED NEARER THE TIME.
July 18th. 2pm-5pm. Ince Castle Gardens open in aid of the National Gardens Scheme. Dogs on leads please.
July 23rd.-25th.Lit Fest returns to Port Eliot.
The Port Eliot Festival at the Port Eliot Estate, St Germans described by organisers as 'a magical setting at one of Cornwall's most romantic estates.'

Aug 21st-22nd. SaltFest is a FREE Music Festival that will take place on Saltash Waterside. The SaltFest will take place in 6 venues along the waterside at Saltash. The main rock stage will be at Livewire; Jazz/blues/light bands at the Union; acoustic solo/duos at the Boatman; classical, workshops and lectures at Ashtorre; world music, dance, choirs in the Marquee (on the green between the Union and the Boatman) and traditional music in the Saltash Yacht Club. If the weather is favourable we will also have some outdoor fun with a busking stand and other fun events. There will be food stands outdoors and the bars will be open at the Union and the Boatman.
Oct 2nd-16th. Landulph Festival of Music & The Arts.
Oct 6th. Callington Honey Fair.
